Badmaash Company (Bollywood Movie) – Review
Badmaash Company which goes with the tagline “They did all the wrong things… The right way!” after seeing which, you would ask whether they were indeed right things except for the one indeed right thing!
Well, the movie poster would give you an opinion in the lines of Ocean’s eleven or something like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels ?. But Badmaash Company isn’t one of those. If you are going to watch the movie (i would recommend you to watch it for once!), you would meet Karan(Shahid Kapoor), Bulbul(Anushka Sharma), Chandu(Vir Das) and Zing(Meiyang Chang from Indian Idol 2004!, anyone guessed?), four friends in the 1990’s who are pulled together by Karan who for one of a kind business with a company named as “Friends & Co”, funded by Karan’s Jazz Mama from the U.S, which is not quite the right way, if you would notice, and they end up getting rich and more rich until a big full stop comes their way which makes Karan(yeah, he is the mastermind always) to think of something more big and makes a trip to the U.S to do a “one of a kind” business. Times change.. Zing, Chandu and Karan go more deep into their typical behaviours and what happens next is what you would have guessed by now.
Karan’s father played by Anupam Kher has very less dialogues to deliver but they all have enough words in them to evoke the the right way to lead life. Badmaash Company also is about how to and how not to use the sharp mind. “All one needs is an idea!”. Shahid Kapoor does good in his role of the sharp, clever but the always money wanting guy, Anushka scorches the screen after her homely look in Rab Ne.. Zing doesn’t look like a new comer to Bollywood and Vir Das evokes some good laughter. Overall, a movie if you have to kill some time and also a meaningful end from a Bollywood movie!.
I would rate 7.5/10 for the Badmaashon !. How much would you? Do comment ..
